Update June 2025

JUNE 2025

What’s In Progress

Our Land Use Application with the City of Bainbridge Island is still under review. While we are experiencing delays, particularly with the detention pond, our team is working closely with our architect, our civil engineer and the city of Bainbridge Island.  We remain dedicated to the details of the process and are optimistic about receiving approval in the coming months.

Project team members have met with designers to dial in plans to update the club house.  We are planning improvements that include an updated dining space with sliding panels that section off the dining area, structurally renewed south and west facing decks to enhance views of the golf course and provide improved family and outdoor dining space. Other improvements include entryway updates, new flooring, and design enhancements to the dining room and social lounge. Drawings will be loaded to our project website when they become finalized.  We hope for work to begin in the winter months!

Financial Update

To date, we have incurred roughly $250,000 in costs, which include architecture, site planning, civil engineering, permitting, legal fees, and detailed designs for the clubhouse, kitchen, golf shop, and maintenance facilities. Importantly, we have avoided additional expenditure, such as pre-construction costs from contractors, by leveraging the expertise of our dedicated members.

These members have volunteered their time and skills in construction, estimation, designs, and operational efficiency, and have been instrumental in overcoming challenges related to the land use application, detention pond, and other property issues as they arise.  We are immensely grateful for their contributions, which have not only saved significant costs but also ensured that the project reflects the needs and aspirations of our community.

Concurrently, the Finance Committee has worked to assure control over and report on the sources and uses of project funds. Funds are being held in a separate bank account, and the project has a separate set of financials. The committee reviews this regularly and delivers reports to the Board.

What’s Next

While we continue to navigate the permit process, and complete due diligence on the possible property purchase, we remain committed to moving forward prudently and efficiently. We know that the long-term investment by our membership is significant, and we are thankful for the support of our membership.

Thank you for your support as we work to elevate Wing Point Golf & Country Club for generations to come!
