    • What’s New

    This past week, architect Charlie Wenzlau, Jeff D’Amico, and Mike Goldsberry met with the Bainbridge Island Design Review Board. This was the 2nd of 3 scheduled reviews by DRB. Approval by the DRB is a critical first step in the permitting process.

    Good news! The DRB agreed to all of the components of our DRB submission and approved for us to move forward without a 3rd meeting.

    What’s In Progress 

    The team will now work over the next 1-2 weeks to finalize our formal Land Use Application and Building Permit, and will present it to the city planning office. We had hoped to submit this by the end of the year, so we’re actually a few weeks ahead of schedule.

    What’s Next

    Permit approval is expected to take 6-9 months. During that time, we will be finalizing construction documents and obtaining bids from contractors. Those bids will be structured not to exceed our budget of $8.5 million. Our goal is to have a contractor selected in the Spring, well in advance of permit approval. That will allow pre-construction planning to take place and enable construction to begin quickly once permit approval is received.

    Website and Communication 

    Our project website, wpgccrenewal.com is up and running and is aimed at providing project information, updates, frequently asked questions, and financing updates.  We also have a dedicated email address info@wpgccrenewal.com which will feed directly to our communications team, project committee members and club leadership.  We aim to answer questions, concerns, and provide feedback as we embark on our club renewal project journey.

    Financing Update

    Thank you to all of those proprietary members who have taken care of upfront assessment payments.  We are happy to report we have received over 90 percent of the funds as of November 30th.  We are looking to wrap up the remaining assessment payments by December 15th.
